A popular clothing item, worn by males as part of their daily suit in the old times of Roman Empire, was called the "Sudarium". This part of garments can be seen tied around the neck or waist of the first Century Emperor Nero. Usually the emperor wore it during his public appearances.

Over the years, scarves evolved into lots of things and you can see them being worn by noble men, soldiers or musician just like Beethoven. And even adopted to numerous names like "cravats" during the time of Queen Victoria of England or “steinkirk" during the Battle of Steenkerque in 1692. Scarves have been a natural neck clothing for males and for 80 generations scarves have been around and we are fortunate that they still exist today.
