How to Get Great Reviews for Your Business

Starting a business is no easy deal. Some people think it’s as easy as getting a place, contacting suppliers and getting rid of the merchandise. There are a lot of other factors to consider too, and probably one of the most difficult of these is customer service.

One great businessman told me that it’s not only a matter of delivering customer satisfaction, but it’s more about making customers happy. When customers are happy, it leads to word of mouth and therefore, more business.
Customer reviews are one of the best ways to reach potential customers and let them know about your business. The big problem with consumer reviews is that customers make them, and business owners have no control over them. A lot of business leaders think getting good reviews is hard, but that’s not true at all!

There’s one solid way to get great reviews, and that’s to make your customers happy! Again, don’t just satisfy your customers, you have to make them feel great and happy about doing business with you that they’d want to actually tell their friends and family about it!

The best way to make customers happy is to follow up on their orders. You can send them an email a few days after they bought something from you and ask what they think about the product or the service. Are they happy about it, or is there something you can improve on? Hearing the feedback of people who actually used your product/ service will not only help your business improve, it will also make your customers feel special.

Another effective tip is to send your customer a special thank you note after they have done business with you. I recommend tailoring this to your business. For small businesses, it wouldn’t be too hard sending a pre-written email thanking customers (they actually have software). For bigger companies (and therefore bigger deals), maybe send a good bottle of wine with a thank you note. I’m sure your customers would love it!
