According to Jay Famiglietti, a senior water scientist at NASA at Caltech, writes that "...the state has only one year of water supply left in its reservoirs, and our strategic backup supply, groundwater, is rapidly disappearing. California has no contingency emergency plan for a constant longlasting drought..." This is very disconcerting.

These are the alarming facts. Groundwater pumping rates are excessive and not sustainable.Rain is not falling and wells are running dry. California is the land of excessive everything. High income tax, high crime rate, high rent and high waterusage. The state is running out of easy jobs, easy money and access to cheap water . Water is about to become more expensive than diamonds, gold and silver, petroleum or drugs!

In the next year, either California will have to build desalination plants and/or water will be transported in from other places. Either way, water will become a very expensive commodity. It will be expensive to get the salt out or truck it in. Water and utility bills will become outrageous and there will be a massive exodus from the sunshine state. Homes and businesses will sit unsold and will be handed back to banks or simply abandoned because water rationing will become the norm or water bills will be so outrageous that the average american family cannot afford to stay in Cali.
