The Split View feature is currently available on the iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 and will allow you to work on two apps simultaneously. The three different multitasking features across the different iPad models are Split View, Slide Over and Picture in Picture.

Slide Over

You can activate the Slide Over feature inside an app by swiping from right to left side to create a side pane that will make space for a second app alongside the first app. The Slide Over feature occupies about 1/3 of the display.
